Amigos Center

2010 News

Amigos Center is now part of the Maryvale on the Move Project. This four year effort will promote active living and healthy lifestyles among children ages 5-15 in the Maryvale area. Partners include Wesley Community Center, Golden Gate Community Center, Rehoboth Community Development Corporation and St. Luke's Health Initiative among others. This project is funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. More details will be forthcoming.

Amigos Center was the site of the All Neighborhood Kickball Tournament held on Saturday February 13, 2010 on the grounds of Calvary United Methodist Church.  Kickball teams included Amigos Center and the three surrounding neighborhoods:  Starlight Park, Tomahawk and Heatherbrae. A healthy lunch was provided that included fresh fruits and vegetables. There was also kickball games and other activities for children. Approximately 150 people were in attendance and had a GREAT TIME!
