Wesley’s programs serve a daily average of over 200 youth, ages 5 -15, who participate in one or more of the following activities: meals, games, weekly field trips, swimming at city pools, and enrichment activities provided by partner agencies.
We also share our facilities with our neighbor, Silvestre S. Herrera School for the Fine Arts and Duel Language, making possible drama, dance, art, and physical education classes for Herrera’s 800-plus students. Herrera’s 5 first grade teachers continue to use our Community Garden as a teaching tool for their students.
Two of our most important activities every year are the Back to School program, which provides over 100 of the children in our community with donated backpacks and school supplies, and the Christmas Adopt a Family program, in which volunteers from around the Valley donate Christmas presents for over 100 of the needy families served by Wesley.
Wesley continues to provide ongoing services to residents and clients in the form of an Exercise Class, Sewing Class, Senior Women’s Group, Senior Companion Program, and Emergency Food bags. Over 1,000 people benefit annually from these programs.
Wesley also provides space for the Arizona Women Infants, and Children program (WIC), as well as the Maricopa County Adult Probation department.
